fuse*

Software Dev · System Design · Hardware

At fuse*, I work as a system developer and software engineer, managing a broad range of technical responsibilities. These spaced from IT studio infrastructure, technical support to team members and client, as well as leading the technical implementation of interactive artworks. When designing real-time, interactive systems, I learnt to deliver solid assets while always keeping an eye to performance and robustness of software and hardware solutions. I also gained practical experience in live performance, serving as technical director and engineer for live shows.

Interactive Development

I've always been intrigued by how visualization can make hidden structures in complex systems legible. With Neuralight collective, I developed visualizations of StyleGAN's latent spaces, uncovering how generative models organize visual information. We presented this project at Milano Digital Week in 2023. Later at fuse*, I helped contextualize the Onirica dataset of 27,000 human dreams and designed the site's visualization layer, creating an intuitive interface to explore the hidden information architecture.

Data visualization

Touchdesigner · GLSL

Over years I developed various data visualization systems, connecting different data (from physical sensors to online APIs). For example, with Neuralight we developed TR//EE, an installation about air quality in italian cities. It was presented at Club Silencio (Turin, 2021) and Dot Festival (Sicily, 2024).

Festivalle

System design, Light design, Hardware integration

I started my path in digital art at Festivalle, a jazz festival in Valle dei Tempi, Agrigento, Sicily. With a group of students, we managed the lightning system on the main stage of the festival (and in 2022, also the afterparty stage), which featured artists such as Kokoroko, Alfredo Rodriguez, Salvador Sobral, Nu Genea, Rita Payes, Karate, Marco Castello, Kamaal Williams and many others. The stage was designed by Studio Grizz.

I use AI coding tools. I'm also conscious of the implications. I care about data governance, open-source ecosystems, and human rights. I don't believe AI systems are inherently good or evil: they're statistical infrastructures shaped by human decisions. We get the chance to use them. I'm skeptical of AI "humanification", as this rhetoric obscures what's actually happening. These are systems built with specific constraints, intents, biases. As someone who started working without AI tools I find this most significant: to interrogate the tools we adopt, the private organizations behind them, and the system we help maintain. The world we live in deserves better.
02About

Technical depth, creative context

My background combines engineering education, live production, and a long-running interest in tools for culture and media.

I'm a software engineer and creative technologist who bridges technical implementation with creative intent. My work spans full-stack development, creative coding, and real-time multimedia, much of it shipped in demanding contexts where it has to perform live.

I trained as an engineer in Music Engineering and Cinema & Media Engineering. My Master's thesis on packet-loss concealment for networked music performance led to an article published by the IEEE.

"Every man gets a narrower and narrower field of knowledge in which he must be an expert in order to compete with other people. The specialist knows more and more about less and less and finally knows everything about nothing." - Konrad Lorenz
